    the samples were brood. the state inspector collected the samples and sent them in. luckily I haven't seen any evidence of the brood disease in any of my other hives.

    I had the state inspector out on Wednesday, she sent some samples to Beltsville. she said the small brown larva were chilled brood. for some reason, the population has really decreased in 2 weeks....
