That would be great! Would love to share a home brew with a fellow beek! I'll stay in touch
Thank you! Will look them up. Not really a big time beek but enough to sell a little and home use. My husband brews beer and uses a lot of what I get from the girls-nothing like a home brew! Really...
Still exploring, possible Tyler area. Want acreage to farm but first concern is the bees.
My husband and I are fed up with NYS and looking to move to Texas to live among (hopeful) like minded people. My question is what should I expect when I begin beekeeping in Eastern Texas. I obviously...
I guess natural would construed no chemicals-mineral oil is not toxic nor a chemical. Thymol as an essential oil is natural-derived from oil of thyme. That being said any herb/essential oil...
Not a big problem but I don't like using chemicals in my hives and like the fact that its natural. Why would you say that? Have you experience with this method?
If you have another hive I'd take out a frame of young brood and eggs. If she's failing they can get a start on making a replacement. My two cents:)
After watching Fat Bee man's video on using a fogger for mite control I ordered one. Has anyone else used one and if so anything additional I should know? It looks pretty straight forward but wanted...

As the above posts mentioned check your thermometer. I make regular fudge (will have to try the honey fudge) and I test my thermometer prior to making every batch. Just a few degrees one way or the...
We just went with Farm Family-found them to be very reasonably priced
All of you are missing the point: Liability. Yes you are liable whether they are on your property or someone elses. There is no release of liability. If someone brings you to court your still going...
Too scared to do it just yet. I'm afraid the weather will change.
We just changed our home owners ins to another company and got product and general liability. We are also forming an LLC (my husband grows gourmet mushrooms). The extra mile is worth the peace of...
I've been comparing price among the bee supply places I was hoping there was another alternative. I know! I knew there was a bottle place around I came across a while back thought they were in...
Thanks guys!!! @Mark I'm closer to the Vt/Ma border I'll see if I can find a web site.
Thanks for the help!

Looking for jars for the honey. Does anyone know where I can order them for a good price? Plastic or glass. Also, do any of you have a preference over one or the other-glass or plastic?
Thanks!!

Bought my Maxant 2 wks ago. Can't wait to give it a spin!
I leave mine open too and I'm in upstate NY.
Thanks Mike! Def going to give this a try!
Mike
great idea with that waterer! I have chickens I should have thought of that! In your photos did you put something in the "lip" to keep the bees from drowning? It appears that way (yellow)

Been waiting for that after hearing of the little girl who died
kinda like a super walmart vs reg walmart:)
I have no doubt that 3 deep hives fair better over all as far as wintering, disease and pest control are concerned but as I said the sheer number of bees your working with is intimidating and it is...
