  1. Re: Will these nails work for the frames? (pictures included)

look kind of big but may work as long as they don't split. this frame will not last 1yr with out falling apart. on the top bar you need two vertical nails and 1 horizontal thru the end bar on each...

Re: Bee warmth through different foundations

I hate anything plastic in the hive but I don't believe it makes a difference either with wax or plastic. remember the cells are filled with honey. this creates thermal mass and helps keep the hive...
  3. Re: ok to reverse brood nest hive bodies of different sizes?

there are more reasons to do it than not. It gives the bees extra room and they recondition the bottom super you moved up.
  4. Re: Italian or Carnolian Queen for New Beekeepers

    Re: Honey Extracting Question

that will not hurt anything but that whole super should be put on a hive due to eggs hatching out soon.

Re: How much brood to pull

you need to decide how many to leave. then you know how many extra they can spare. count total brood and be very careful not to take out the queen.

  23. Re: How do you do this - what's the trick to tipping up boxes to look under them?

I just put the hive tool in under the top box and pull the super toward you about 1 inch. then pivot it up. when blowing bees out bring it farther so it sets by itself. easier to do than explain.lol

    Re: Clipping Wings

If your theory was correct there would be no such thnig as an after swarm. If a hive decides to swarm they will. Its a new queen in an after swarm.
