    Re: Getting the kids interested

Yes buy the suit- it's a lot easier to be a brave knight if you believe in your armor. Don't press too much, let your children lead you to their interests.

    Re: foundation mill

Here is a thread that involves making your own foundation press. It refers in turn to a video.

    Re: Snow

Here in the Northeast I here that solar warming now exceeds radiative cooling so there is hope. Of course that also puts energy in the atmosphere and allows storms to form so it snows more.

  4. Re: What is the big attraction of pine saw dust??

If they are more interested in the used sawdust in the stalls than fresh sawdust, in whatever bin it may reside, they may be harvesting minerals from the animal urine in the used sawdust.

Re: Smoker stuck closed - solution to avoid?

Bar soap or liquid dish soap makes the bottom of the pot easier to clean when you cook over an open fire. Perhaps soap in the joint of the smoker will help.

Re: Feeding feral bees for a future trapout

Why wouldn't you connect the trap now? If the bees become accustomed to the trap enough that they move the guards to the entrance of the trap you could feed syrup in the trap without as much robbing...

    Re: Aronia berries

Gurney's has them, $19.99 for each potted plant. Probably not the place to go if you want to plant an acre, but if you just want one or two... What I've bought from them has always been good.

Most frames are built to have foundation installed in them. Show one of your frames to whoever you buy your equipment from and ask if you can install foundation in it. You can buy just the...

Re: Oh my!!! We have bees. Now what???

My usual disclaimer- what I know is a distillation of what I have read, no hands on experience.

First take a deep breath and slowly exhale. That bit of white, new looking comb that the bees are...

To quote The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, "don't panic". Bees have been bees for hundreds of thousands of years, you have been a beekeeper for a few days. The bees know better than you what to...

Re: What to do with a tank full of bees?

Before you go attacking this tank you should at least read Cleo Hogans stuff. If his method works as well as he claims, and I believe it does, you should be able to get several colony starts out of...

    Re: Cutting Foam Board

With a camera and some sort of downlink you two guys could bring a new dimension to bee lining.

Nice work, build one a little bigger and take me for a ride.

Chlorine bleach destroys or at least changes many organic molecules. Perhaps a wash down with strong bleach solution will work.
