Had a swarm from one of my hives this afternoon, caught and put them in a 5 frame nuc.
Never had one this late in the year.
Guess its global swarming or something.

Just caught a new swarm today, 9th October in Missouri????
It's from one of my hives but, I don't know which yet. I'll go through them tomorrow.
It's small about a pound. I guess I'll get a frame...
Darn, About 5 years ago I used to live really closed to that area.
Caught 2 swarms this year but wasn't smart enough to put brood frames in with them and lost them both.
Oh Well.
Caught a feral swarm earlier in the year around march when it warmed up. I had to cut them out of a log. Don't have pictures but my nephew (13 yr) helped and thought it was fun . I saw the queen...
We have both Guinea hens and bats with no problem, its the Purple Martins that eat a lot of the bees here.

Looks like we lost all the apples,cherries,plums, all of the clover is gone. Might have some wild blackberry though. I'll probably have to move the hives this year. Wonder how this will effect...

I use white for the supers and black for the brood. I tried white in the brood area and the bees would not use it and vise versa.
