Re: Trapout Base of Oak Tree

Thanks for the good advice Mr. Hogan. I added some insulation to make sure the tunnel wasn't too hot for them.

Re: The mess that's left after a cutout

An old timer told me that Simple Green is good to spray on to mask the odors to keep future swarms from moving back in. Haven't tried it myself yet.

Re: Trapout Base of Oak Tree

    Mr. cchoganjr,

Thank you for the plans. You state that "place the trap parallel and horizontal to the brood nest in the tree" in your above post as part of the success. How important is this? ...

    Trapout Base of Oak Tree

    Hi All,

I am wanting to do a trapout on these bees to save them from extermination. I have tried to convince the homeowner to let me remove bees each year while leaving the hive intact but...

Re: What to do with honey from a cut-out?

I keep nice clean stuff for personal consumption. Then put the intact stuff rubberbanded into frames. Everything else I put in a bucket and then dump it out when I get home for all hives to rob...

    First year and loving it

    Hi All,

This is my first year keeping bees. I started out with a Warre hive and a package. Decided to take a mostly observatory approach at first and my hive swarmed four times even though I...
