No reason why you can't
Well i don't know about you guys but i know where my honey bees came from. They came from swarms from Lebanon VA a couple of years ago. So that should be much more recent evidence lol.
very nice i liked the idea of a table i'm sure that is gonna come in handy good luck with your bees
i have to agree with everyone else on this one seems like it's just housekeeping.
I beleave i'd be worried about any spraying. You definately want to ask what thier using to spray and do more research on it.
you can spray the bees down before you release them with sugar water to keep them from flying around so much
I wonder why people want you to pay for honey bees with the pleasure of having to work hours on end most of the time in high heat when thier happy to pay an exterminator?
i would think it would have been wiser to have done some prep work like using none stick bakeware and or a little cooking spray so the wax will release
doesn't look like robbing to me you can tell robber bees because they will be a smidge darker then your bees and will circle the hive instead of comming straight in
You should be exempt from sales tax for agrculture purposes.
Yeah i had one that wanted me to cut one out of thier wall and replace it for nothing. I proceded to tell the woman that it was hard work and that i can buy bees for less then it was gonna cost me...
Are you gonna use the other deep as a super? If so i sure hope you have a strong back as they can get really heavey.
Remington 870 isn't a reliable gun anymore. I like my Ruger Black Hawk 44 mag. it's accurate to 100 yards and will stop about anything in it's tracks.
My buddy has the paperwork on it i'm suppost to get up with him sometime this week. He said it was a guy out in Marion, VA that he was getting up with to see about. I'll post the guys info as soon...
you need to consider putting it up at least 18" off the ground to keep critters out (mainly skunks). other then that your idea seems pretty sound to me.
Yeah i see that but 400 bucks then shelling out for everything like i did when i started
I'm looking into it right now but according to some paperwork Virginia is offering residents in certain countys money to buy bees and equipment with. The paperwork i read says they will pay up to...
Wow that's really strange!!! When i got into beekeeping i would have never thought about using it to suduce married women. It amazes me sometimes how people will try to take advantage of people in...
Depends on how you take a bee sting. I don't even use a viel for quick looks in the hive but if i'm gonna work any length of time i dawn a full bee suit complete with gloves. Some of the old timers...
Well here is a suggestion if you have a freezer big enough. Put them on ice for a few days in the ol' deep freeze. Won't contaminate anything and you can reuse all the equipment.
Bees are wild and not domesticated under law. So that means unless say you have a nasty hive that has a tendancy to attack people and animals on more then one occasion your in the free and clear. ...
My pressure washer with cold water worked pretty well too. Also does a pretty good job of getting loose paint off of supers before painting.
I would only use staples when your transporting hives. Really no other reason to affix the bottom board.
Well i'm gonna say my first experiance went off pretty easy as i bought 3 swarms off a very nice local woman. All went well i set them up on a huge rock on the farm facing the morning sun with no...
No it's more of a thing to help the hives make it through the winter. Sometimes though it's counter productive especially if the hives are warmer then they need to be. It's not really smart...
