    Thanks Guys,
    I did it on the weekend, Saturday and took the box with the queen in it to my out yard.
    I put a virgin queen caged with some bees, in box that was left, the next day.

    What is the best time of day to split a hive?
    Is it better to do it when the hive has all the field bees in IE: early morning /evening: or when they are out, Midday?

    I pulled my foundation-less wax target frame today to try my hand at cell punching and the bees have filled the entire frame with honey.
    The girls are not following my grafting spread sheet yet...

  9. Do grafted cells in a finisher hive induce the urge to swarm?

    I've been thinking about grafted cells above a queen excluder that are in a queen right hive, would they induce the bees to swarm.
    Wouldn't the presence of these cells in the hive make the bees...

    For three reasons.
    One: I made enough for myself. Now my buddy wants some.

    So yesterday I grafted 5 larva into queen cups, looks like 4 of them have taken.
    I want to cell punch, 5 more larvae in 5 days from now and am hoping I'll be able to use the same hive with Cloake...
