    I don't look for my queens because I can never find them. I look for eggs, larvae and brood. If they are present, I figure my Queens are present and strong. Am I wrong to not look for them?

    I am located in Angola, NY. Most likely dead bees at your entrance is a good sign there are live bees inside cleaning out the hive. Good luck, we still have 2 months of winter remaining.
