NO WASTE OF TIME
Doesn't appear to be chaulk brood looks like they starved
Do a search for cutouts or trap outs.
1ST Swarm of the year. Hived itself in a dead out 45640 5/13/14 Checked them today queen is already laying.
If they are in fact a swarm from that hive you can do the trap out. I would use a frame of brood that is all capped if possible as you have a virgin queen wanting to take a mating flight. You would...
I have heard of packages replacing a queen quickly. I have no experience with this as I have never bought a package.
You have brood
Not here I have lost 17 of 30 all but 4 had starved the 4 had plenty of stores but must have ran out during real cold snap and were not able to move.
I have a small glass jar that mushrooms came in. I put LGO,OLD QUEENS AND ALCOHOL together I also went through all my dead outs and if I can find the old dead queen I chuck them into can't hurt.
Never have I read in any books or on any Bee forum where some said to dump them back into the swarm hive.
DO they have brood
I have lost 17 of 30
What are you going to plant bees don't work a lot of things planted in a veg. garden
I have lost 17 of 30 so far
Give them the hive tool treatment
I like the idea of letting the bees build what they need and want. Also I don't want other beekeepers poison in my hives which is what you get with foundation.
Michael is correct all bees have mite
All have or will have and are free:D
Tell us in march
Mutts for me. All are swarms, splits and cut outs.
no you don't have to
Level side to side is the key and check often remove any that get out of line
Put them on a hive the bees will clean them up
Mine are mostly gone 1 of 30 still has a few but they are also getting the boot
Did half of mine yesterday the other 15 this weekend.
