just watch the outside of the cluster and you may see her come to the surface. If I remember correctly last year I found 7 queens in one swarm.
65 degrees a few hours sun. Bees coming in very heavy in the evening.

This is definitely the issue the first FEW years!
If you split out the original queen and leave all the swarm cells they may cast multiple swarms!

Went out to check on hives this evening, they were coming in heavy. Went out and looked at some poplars and black gum, sure enough they were working both.

Front and back of 1 frame
I did just as you to a number of hives. Then my weather turned bad. Now I've been experiencing a swarming nightmare. Check out my thread "tossed virgins photo".
Without drawn comb on hand, I think the only way I could have avoided all this would have been to spin out a few frames and given them back.
Hindsight 20/20 I would have split these hives harder but...when this action is taken how many cells would one leave?
