    Re: What's these critters

looks like wax moth to me.. look at comb closely for webs and it will just run across under and through the cells and if you don't see it in the comb your bees seem to be handling just fine

February cause we had a very early spring and not enough stores for brood rearing. Now I have hive body and 2...

    Re: Pollen and nectar

Thanks guys, yes I realize sugar is cheaper and that they take in more resources during brood and wax production. My only confusion was if bees got nutrition to sustain from pollen or just brood....

Re: Flow Hive- this look interesting

I may be missing something. I watched video and saw that the outside edge of frame was visible and the inside was not. My biggest concern would be harvesting uncapped honey in the middle of frame...

    Re: Hot hive

We have temps as low as -10 here and there were 2 confirmed AHB colonies in 1997. So I do not think 14 is to cold. I did a couple of cut-outs last year and hive was just as you say. I killed it after...

It will work just fine. You will be a few weeks before they have comb built for the queen to even lay. That will give you time to catch some supers on sale or build them. There are a few guys here in...

Re: Carniolan Vs. Italian Queen Bee

I think you could plant 10 acres and the bees are still going where they want to go. They will cover about a 5 miles radius. I have all kinds of stuff at my place, but they seem to like my neighbors...

Yes the block is machined to fit the glow plug. I was nervous about blowing the glow plug after putting in water after treatment, but has worked fine so far.
