    cutouts are easier , three to four hours and you get everything and genetics. a trapout is three to six weeks and you are not guaranteed genetics. at least that is the way it usually works for me

    queen left behind or two queens

    had a call on a swarm in a pecan orchard on a limb about four ft off ground. when i arrived the swarm was gone w only a few bees still flying and an 18 in circle of wax scales on ground below limb....

    good luck. the main thing is to get the queen in box and keep her there. we sometimes put a queen excluder on bottom of hive so she cant leave once you put her in. we just did one like this saturday....

    we do alot of cutouts and nearly always use a beevac. as of now , we r probably at least 85% in getting the queen. we started out not charging but we r way too busy now. we charge 100.00 per cutout...

    eastsidebuzz thanks for the harbvor freight info. and yes at night they crawl and find spots to get in they usually dont notice. got one in the pants and 2 in the veil sunday, no fun.
