    Ok I just went tru a BUNCH of dead bees,,, did not find any mites on any of them.
    AFB would only affect the brood correct. Not the adult bees?
    This hive died in like a two week time period.

    I have found that if I hold the bar just above the postion that it is to rest in and the slowly lower it down it pushes the bees down gently and you are left with a bar in place.

    yes it could damage the motor, cause it to over heat. Why would you just not cut out some airflow?

    Carrying dead bees.

    How far from the hive do they carry the dead?
    I saw one fly out of my top bar hive and the last I saw at about 30 yards was still carrying it.

    built 4 today for 11.93 plus cost of nails, glue and paint that I already had. Had them built and painted in 3 hours. Had Lowes cut the plywood down to 22 inch strips and finished up on the table...
