What is the acceptad rate of grams of thymol crystals in winter feed to control Nosema?
i.e. grams per litre....
Reading the comments on hooded veils is making me think that some designs are better than others.
I have problems with the loops obscuring my view but find if I pinch the back of the hood to move...

If you really want to find the queen at all costs you could tip the bees through a queen excluder, unless she's still skinny you will find her on the top of the queen excluder.

Point being that adding a frame of eggs/brood would delay the new queen laying still further.
I have reciently been told by an very experienced bee keeping family that a new queen will not start laying untill all brood not hers has emerged. Opinions/contradictions welcome.
