    Re: Following board size

It's a good idea to have a 3/8 spacer on the last top bar against your follower and the first against the front of the hive. This will provide your bee space.

    Re: Swarm and queen cells.

Ok thanks. I was wondering if there was a difference.

So once a swarm occurs future a queens will tend to stay and fight it out ?
Why do supersedure cells not swarm?

Nice, I'm not against using some foundation to help in the beginning. Too late for this one, maybe in the future.

  16. Re: Signs of Robbing (through an observation window) with video

Could be swam prep. I watched a few vids of bees running around crazy like before they swarmed.
  17. Re: Are Orientation Flights an Indication of....

Being queenright is a very important part the hive.
This is one of the first things you need to inspect for.
You don't have to see the queen, look for eggs and brood.
Use a magnifying glass if you...

    Re: Piping Queen?

I think they can pipe in the cell. Not sure on the colony actually killing other queens. Maybe they died and they are just terring the cells down.

Only bad thing is nuc+queen cell +swarm with queen= 2 queens. Remove the queen cell(s) if you combine.
