Re: Florida dept AG apiary inspection

Our inspectors always use our own equipment for that very reason. The exception is the beesuit.
Since the suit doesn't come into contact with the colony it's not a problem.

    Re: Dying swarm.

The reason I discounted starvation is the OP's location.Stalled swarms do forage a little and Georgia is in full bloom right now. Also, for the same reason, the temperatures have not been cold enough to...

    Re: Dying swarm.

Sprayed.I have had people call to remove a swarm and be willing to swear on a stack of bibles that they had not been sprayed. You could smell the insecticide,or gasoline, from the street.

    Re: SAF Nutura Extractor Help!!

I guess I need to come into the 21st century.I do not see a capacitor in your pictures. It generally sits atop motors in an upside down horseshoe shaped housing.Your motor is an entirely different...

    Re: SAF Nutura Extractor Help!!

The first thing I would check is the capacitor on the motor. You are getting enough power to attempt a start but not enough power to start the spin.

I have 8 frame boxes from several different sources and they are ALL oversize for 8 frames.Makes you wonder who the original doofus was that came up with the size.Anyway,my work around is to use 8...

Re: 5 gallon buckets- Home Depot or food grade?

Most beer and wine supply stores carry glass gallon jars. The ones here are the small neck variety like cider comes in.They are about $13.00 for case of four.Price will probably vary depending on...

    Re: Dead Queen?

Your ideas are right since you have a queen ordered. If you add young larvae and eggs as some suggest they will start queen cells and probably reject your new queen when she arrives. If you decide to...

    Re: All is Lost..........

I differ.Assuming it's mites is very useful since mites play a role in most deadouts. It is likely that if the OP had treated for mites,at the proper times,at least some of his hives would still be...

One word of advice.Have about twice the amount of material you think you will need to fill the hour. The universe slows down to a crawl when you are speaking in front of a group.

Re: Too old to lift the boxes

I have things such as wheelbarrows and garden carts but the nursery wagon suits me best.
