    Requeening swarms?

    Hi people's.

    A fellow beek asked me a question I don't know the answer.

    Can a newly caught swarm be successfully requeened within 24hours or even immediately after capturing a swarm?

    Feeding fondant, your opinions.

    Does anyone feed their bees fondant as well as or instead of sugar syrup?
    I have just made up some fondant to trial instead of using syrup and so far so good!
    Quite a few benifets like not loosing...

    Prevention is better than cure.

    Try and prevent them from swarming, requeen every year and give them lots of space.

    It will work well. I have used 10 frame deeps as swarm traps. You can always put 1 ontop of another to get the height.
