    Re: dumb questions?

You said mute not me. And thanks for my point, info is not knowledge. But most mistake one for the other, or worse, accept it.

Superior type? Wasn't trying to be but I'll defer to your judgement. ...

    Re: dumb questions?

Rader no. Not all books are credible to be sure but the standard is much higher then on the net.
The advice on searching is great but not for me. I was a mod on a vb site for years. I can turn a vb...

    Re: Not much capped brood...problem?

What happened where you are that week? Cold? Rain all week? Lull in bloom? Other things to think about besides moving a few frames around.
Imo relax. Mine do it too. Great one week and I expect more...

    Re: dumb questions?

Fair enough josh. Second part now if you please: is info found on the net acceptable enough verses knowledge found elsewere. Anyone can put anything on the net ( and do) without verification or...

    Re: dumb questions?

Josh I've always went out of my way to help others here in my area as well but there comes a time for someone to think on their own as well. Asking simple questions every day is neither learning nor...

    Re: three brood chambers

I run three deeps for overwintering. Plus it makes one very strong hive and one very strong split. All of mine had at least 15 full deep frames of capped brood this year and one had 19. Since I've...

    Re: dumb questions?

Sqk if you wish to click ignore then by all means feel free as I don't care in the least.
my point was that I find it odd someone would lay down at least $200 for a hive and another $100 for bees...

Re: MOVING BEES, What did I do wrong?

Heat is the only issue imo. I always screen the top of the hive and entrance when I move.

    Re: three brood chambers

All of my hives run 3 deeps for brood chambers. Supers are for old men and honey. Nice study published in the hive and the honey bee if you have it or can get it at your local library....

How many keepers on here read? (Books not web posts)
    Take classes on bees?
Have a mentor whom reads and owns books?

    Seems to me that...

Re: Ants heading to top feeder

I've never before seen a site where so many worried so much about the most trivial things.
Sure, go out of your way to keep a few ants out of a hive then turn around and put formic acid in for...

Re: How long can you keep a nuc closed?

I cut a few small tree branches and stick them in the ground in front of and blocking the hive. They'll orient and once the leaves dry up and fall off I pull the sticks. You just need to make them...
