    Seems way too complicated- I suggest setting up a swarm trap in a good location and wait for a swarm to come by. ie. us bee pheromone etc.

    All you really need to know is that there is a good brood pattern- the queen is there visible or not.

    I've had good luck placing the queen cage on the bottom of TBH but not so good luck when hanging the cage on top bar.

    I've had Weaver queens for the past 25 yrs. Some times one will get pretty hot but usually good producers and minimum disease. So I just go with the flow and when one gets a bit mean just leave it...

    A great conference to attend on organic beekeeping is held in Oracle Az every Feb or Mar. This annual conference just ended last week. Look for it next yr at this time. harry of Arizona
