Does freezing the comb kill the virus? Obviously it'll kill the brood and varroa, but would the frame and comb be reusable after freezing?

I'm guessing you meant SHB or small hive beetle. A number of things to do..
1. Are you using a screened bottom board? If not, get one with a beetle trap.
2. There are a number of beetle traps on...

I did that and it worked fine. I used a cookie sheet with a little vegetable oil in it - just enough to cover the bottom. Caught a bunch of beetles and larvae that fell out of the hive.

Sooo... the bees will cap sugar syrup?? I thought once it was capped that it was "honey" or maybe now "syrup honey" after they add an enzyme, whether the source was nectar or syrup....
