I guess it is a tip older than dirt.
The main reason I light my smoker is to blow a little smoke on a sting. The smoke masks the alarm phermone released by the bee's when you are stung. That way a sting does not begat more stings.

I hope all goes well for you. Next year will be in Ohio and much closer to you
It was a great HAS meeting in great facilities. The food was delicious, facilities were all close together and user friendly, lots of vendors, and plenty of knowledge to try and soak up.

When the traceha mites hit, it put my...
You are not the only that got over $200 for bee's in WV. I know of a beekeeper that sold 3 for 225 and the purchaser wanted more this year.
Mark the queen with a queen marking pen. Then if you find another one mark it with last years color that way you can tell the difference when you see them.
Was there a brood pattern that...

I attended a class at HAS this past July that talked about a similar method of building up the hive's for comb honey production.
This fellow took an existing hive and introduced another queen to...

Maybe someone could clear that up.
I have been by your place.
No I am not a Master Beekeeper. I have been encouraged to take the course but I don't think I will have the time in the near future. Maybe someday.
I think any knowledge that makes us better...
