Fall flow in central North Carolina?

Is there much of a fall flow in the Charlotte/Mooresville area? If so, when does it usually start and end? What is in bloom then?

    Mowing around hives

Any good ways to mow around a hive? I was about 10 yards away yesterday and started to get tagged. I decided that was not a good idea.

What is the easiest way to feed honey back to bees? I took some honey off an established hive earlier this year and now I am wanting to feed it to my new hives. What do you recommend?

Re: If I lost my queen?

I've never had this few bees in a hive before. I would say less than ~1000 to 2000. That is the only reason I am worried.

    Re: Time to move hive

I tapped on the side of the hive the other day and didn't hear any buzzing. I started to think all my bees were dead. I opened the top and they piled out at me and my dog. We both took off running.

    Time to move hive

Is now a good time to move a hive since they spend most of there time in the hive and not flying around? Can I break the 3ft rule now as long as I put some brush in front of the entrance?
