Re: Robert Russell is a fraud

    WOW!!

I can hardly believe I lucked out by being my usual (Day Late and a Dollar Short).

Sure loved the story of all that family bee business history.

    Warre's (hive feet) question

I'm working on patterns for the legs that Warre mentioned that were two different heights, (100mm)4" and (150mm)6", and made out of cast iron.

There are pictures and sketches in his book, but not...
  3. Re: Dadant Deep 10 5/8" foundation available short time

Tacos are good especially without residue.
I like those 'walking tacos' at auctions.

I have a pair of side-cutters, I can snip those hooks for you. Or maybe even if I can talk them into...
  4. Re: Dadant Deep 10 5/8" foundation available short time

I wasn't very interested in the Duragilt, so didn't ask alot of questions about it. I'm not sure if the 25lb minimum applies to it also, nor what the count per pound would be.

    It most likey is 25,...

Just happened to be talking with Arlyn at the main office in Hamilton this morning.

Remembered some of you were talking about the old square 12 frame Dadant Deep hive boxes etc

I think you're about right, and he would have been doing the HO a big favor, that tree is definitely too close to the sidewalk.

Re: Got a Visit from the Bee Inspector.

    WLC,

Over treating for pathegens produces resistent pathegens.

With your outlook anyone who has had sex or used a public toilet shoud be treated for STD's.

And we all should be given chemo...

It was the wrong color of course.

Now I wouldn't say that was puke green but which color would your wife choose for her house?

    Re: Wet (extracted supers)

You can stack them on pallets outside away from any particular hive and let all the bees at them.

If I don't need them back on hives right away I stack them on bottom boards with a queen excluder...

Re: Maybe There's Something To This Small Cell Crap

Ah, the season's work is done and time for the deep thinking before gearing up for next year.

Me, I feel like I didn't get all the leaks fixed in the jon-boat and a tidal wave is about to break...
  12. Re: What to do about drones in a recovered laying worker hive?

Did this hive have characteristics, before the decline, that you liked?

If so, those drones are carrying the genectics that were part of that.

Let them be and spread some of those genes around....
  13. Re: Any Boy Souters or former Boy Scouts out there?

The national Scout organization took a serious look at it last year after all the attention.

The final decision was no badge.

But they did decide to include important emphasis in the...

Re: Maybe There's Something To This Small Cell Crap

So you are using all foundation?
    Those 7 are on 4.9?

    Sounds promising.
I have heard that out breeding the mites is the most effective defense.

I'm tending to go foundationless and let them...

    Re: Swarm Trap success

I personally think a five frame box is a little small but others seem to have success.

Is that vial on the bottom inside?

Is the box in the shade?, if not most likely way too hot for them.
