    Re: Control poison ivy

I really don't think that you are going to be able to concentrate acetic acid by freezing vinegar. Theoretically it may be possible, but you are trying to recover 5% of the fluid and freezing is a...

    Re: Smoke when taking honey?

Once they are shaken off, they pretty much stay off. I place the frames into an empty super and usually don't bother to cover it. I have never been stung doing this and the bees don't seem to mind.

    Re: Smoke when taking honey?

I am really low tech. I just remove a frame at a time and shake the hell out of it. Of course I only harvest 3 or 4 supers a year.

So he is going to carry the hive over to the nearest hill or set of steps and then load it in the truck.

The chances of getting a hot hive is small? My hives tend to run the spectrum from docile to hot depending on the time of year and many other factors.

Re: Is an inner cover necessary?

I ran out of covers (both inner and outer) so I just placed a piece of unpainted plywood on my last 2 hives. I do prefer to use an inner cover because you smash less bees and it makes it easier to...
