Re: What should bees be fed?

You are right about the raw sugar causing dysentery. I knew better than that. I was just wondering what other folks fed them.
You have to be careful with honey too, because you could be bringing in...

    What should bees be fed?

    Hi Everyone,
If you don't have surplus honey from the same hive, or if it's a package, what should you feed bees?
I'm determined to keep them all natural this time.
    Thanks!!

    Re: Escort Service

I got escorted quite a way from the hive as well the other day. I took my veil off about 50 feet away just out of stubborness I guess. LOL
Like Hops Brewster said, I had to shake some and clean up...

    Re: Luring a swarm

I tried a few traps last year with no luck. In 2013, I set an empty hive up basically for storage and low and behold. I thought my eyes were fooling me. LOL Good luck. My question is, would sugar...

    Re: Pep Talk

Thank you all so much. I've learned much more from my mistakes than my successes. In 2013, I carried about 7 hives through almost like "Where's Waldo". LOL I even trapped a swarm in an empty hive!...

    Pep Talk

    Hi Friends,
I lost all of my hives last winter and was not able to get a hold of any new ones this past year.
This year I plan to buy at least two nucs or hives and get excited again.

    Re: how much to feed

    Hi bw200314,
If you feed them anything at all you will do better than I did last year. Don't wait until it's so cold that they ball up. I would feed them 1:1
sugar water right now until they...
