Re: Hive Beetles in Honey Supers

I am getting the honey off this week. Do the eggs affect the honey or is it just the comb? Thanks though for the info.

    Hive Beetles in Honey Supers

So last year I only had about 5 or 6 frames to get honey out of and this year I have 7 supers. I am not sure if this was in another thread but I am curious if it is normal to find a few hive beetles...

Re: How Long Can I store my Supers

I just put them on card board and stack them nicely and put a top cover on top to keep anything from getting in. It takes me about a week to finally get all my supers off. So far haven't had problems.

Re: Removing bees from honey supers?

I had read that on Bush's site as well. For some reason I thought this would for sure cause a frenzy. They do seem really busy and are filling up supers quickly so I guess that constitutes a flow. I...

I'm like you as well. I love podcasts and listen at work. I have used I catcher and have used downcast and really like that one as well. Not a whole lot of beekeeping podcasts but a few.

    Re: What is this bush

Agreed, looks like privet to me also. Bees love then and they are quite fragrant. Just had a swarming one the other night.

I use a handheld device for my job that has a barcode scanner. It is running windows mobile and is not a phone. It would be handy to use something like that where you could scan a barcode and have...

Re: Brushy Mountain foundationless starter strips

Also I am curious about the best way to start doing foundationless if you already are using foundation? Can you start mixing them in with each other or dedicate a hive?

Do you have to help them by moving their comb or do they cross comb even though there's a guide for them?
