The queen needs empty cells to lay eggs in so I would pull a few frames of honey and replace with empty frames. 4 or 5 frames of honey will be a great plenty for now.

Why does everyone think they are a comedian?
If you have one hive and a bee leaves the hive, can fly 2 miles then come back and find a hole the size of a nickel where it started from it shows me they have their own G.P.S. onboard.
My hives...
Seems to me when you buy a nuc to start with you are buying used equip. When you buy a package of bees they came from someone else and you most likley have never seen thier operation, so whats the...
Hey Bugboy,
Its not impossible to get that much honey and still have enough stores for winter. I'm in northern Wisc and last year averaged 81# per hive from 16 packages started mid April and still...
I use 9 frames in a 10 frame box and like them. I don't have small hive beetles so thats not a problem. Try some for yourself, then you will know if you like them. Everyone here has their own opinion...
The bees will clean that stuff up better than you can.
Good luck and welcome.
My name is Eddie and when my son was little he called me Big Eddie once and it stuck. 35 years later he still calls me Big Eddie now and then. I'm only a 200 pounder, thats why I'm not Giant Eddie.

Dark colors work fine up here and you don't need a screened bottom board.

Welcome!
I don't think you have to worry about bear where you live but up in the far north where I live they are plentyful and more than willing to tear up the bee yard. I know from experience....

Hello and welcome from way up north !!
Load them up, haul them over to him, set them up,shake his hand, give him a hug, wish him well then thank God you were able to do this for him.
Just keep doing what you do the way you do it. I think there are alot of sour grapes out there and a lot of wanabes. Jealousy is obvious when you have people doing your math for you and telling you...
I extract foundationless ,just go slower and longer. I use a Maxant 1400pl and it works great. Make sure comb is attached on at least 3 sides and better yet on all 4.
Yes , fast shipping and good folks to deal with.
Its getting late in the year for me to add a frame of eggs and have them make a new queen so its either order a new queen or combine. With a new queen it will be sept. before they can start to build...
