Re: Warre swarmed twice now what?

    Ollie,

Allow me to make a suggestion. Invite other Beekeepers you know to place traps by all suburban Warre' yards as a courtesy to neighbors. I think this would solve a multitude of problems.

Re: Cappings Basket for a Radial Extractor

I bought three of these to run in my Maxant 3100p, they work great!
  3. Re: Best technique to harvest honey from a Warrè?

    Ollie,

Show them your high quality production blower video so they know which end of the blower hose to use on a dumb ass Warre' hive.

    Re: Uncapping roller...do they work?

You start to spend as much time unclogging it as you do uncapping. It may be fine for someone who has one hive. Anyone in the Bay Area that wants one can have mine. Come and get it.
  5. Maxant Industries is pretty much the best company ever!

So our club has extractors days one Saturday a month throughout the summer and fall where members can come and extract their honey from among four club extractors. Two of the extractors are new...
  6. Re: What's the best way to get bees out of supers for extracting?

I think the proper terminology for shop-vac accessories are as follows:

    1. Attachment

    2. Nozzle

    3. Crevice Tool

    4. Wand
  7. Re: What's the best way to get bees out of supers for extracting?

Very educational videos. The production quality is unbelievable. I would have never guessed that you needed to point the end of the blower hose at the bees in the supers.

    You may want to...

    Re: Depth of hive box

Are those live hives in a trailer? What's with the blue painters tape? Is that something Brother Adam did too?

Re: North American ox-eye 'Light of Loddon'

That looks like Zinnia Profusion. I just planted some in my bee yard in Ben Lomond Ca. The nursery guy said that bees love them for nectar.
  11. Re: How successful are double screen boards for overwintering a small hive on a big o

In addition to nucs, you can divide up and eight frame box into four 2 frame nucs for a queen bank over a strong hive. I let the queen just roam around on the two frames until I need her.
    They're...
  12. Re: How successful are double screen boards for overwintering a small hive on a big o

It's the only way to over winter nucs. I use 8 frame mediums divided in two to make two 4 frame nucs over a strong hive with a DSBB in between. They do extremely well this way getting the heat from...

Re: SF Bay Area Beekeepers Forum

I think we all can agree a monkey could do that. You just need a strong back and a weak mind which you seem to excel at. You're just trying to divert my attention because you think I'm a threat to...

Since everyone out of state was whining last swarm challenge that it was unfair because we're in California, I think I'll start another OD swarm challenge next spring just for this forum.

    I want...

Re: Helpful tool for honey tasting!

Oops, sorry guys. Should have checked to see if it was previously posted. Anyway, fold it in half and make a scooper out of it, it should fit inside your honey bottles.;)

    Re: Customer concern

Farmers markets are such a pain that I stopped them completely and just sell wholesale now.

I've never had such stupid questions asked of me:

Is your honey certified? (Whatever that means)
