    Bee Weaver

We ordered 100 queens from B Weaver last spring and I had the worst experience I have ever had with a queen producer. They didn't put enough attendants in the box to cover the queens so most of them...

Re: MAQS Treatment results and questions

I'm not sure how you would want to do that. You'd have to put them in a queen bank with attendants then kill the attendants when you re-introduced the queen as they might be harboring mites. You'd...

Re: MAQS Treatment results and questions

Re: MAQS Treatment results and questions

We did go back to the first problem yard 10 days later. A total of 17 days after the treatment. Out of the 10 colonies that showed no laying queen after 7 days only one had started laying again. All...

Re: MAQS Treatment results and questions

Sure Harry, Nice sarcasm!! Tell it to the people who developed the MAQS. They are still trying to figure out how we can use their product without killing queens. They are the ones who recommended the...

Re: MAQS Treatment results and questions

Granted it does a number on the mites. Killing the queens also really knocks back the mites. I experimented with 4 yards of 32 each. All hives were checked for a laying queen prior to applying the...

Re: Bad queen experience with Buckfast

True they don't claim a Buckfast line but have a mix including the Buckfast gene pool. My complaint was the poor packaging, lack of attendant bees, and the lack of any attempt to rectify the problem....

Re: Bad queen experience with Buckfast

The colonies headed by Buckfast queens seem to be good colonies all around. In the past I have noticed them to be slightly more aggressive than Italians or Carniolans. What really surprised me this...

    Bad queen experience with Buckfast

I had my worst experience with a queen breeder this spring. I had ordered 100 Buckfast queens from B Weaver for May delivery. The queens arrived with maybe a cup full of attendants for the whole box....

    Re: HBH - Pro-Health - Homebrew - cost?

I did a search for the relationship between drops and ml or cc (same thing) and it is 20 drops per cc.

I have made it without the sugar and it works just fine. The oils may separate a little more...
