    Re: Combining hives

Thank you, while not very productive, she is decidedly alive. I guess I should have given them more attention.

    Re: Combining hives

There is no sign of black bees. The population is low, 2-3 frames, no brood, very little stores, although I started feeding them today. I had written them off as I thought the comb etc may be...

    Re: Combining hives

No, I am certain of this, as I assumed the new queen brought the virus and that it would have emerged with the newly hatched bees. I tried to assert this notion on another forum and was chastised. ...

    Combining hives

I have two hives which are queenless after having swarmed late in the season. One large swarm took up residence in a swarm trap a couple hundred yards away. They are at a farm where i work.

    The...

    Re: Equipment cost?

Actually they don't let you determine a shipping cost when you place your order online like many vendors. You have to call them or submit the order and they call you.

They will not ship or bill...

    Re: Equipment cost?

I ordered from Humble Abodes and they called me to give me a shipping quote. It was not cheap but significantly lower if delivered by freight and not UPS or FedEx .
  11. Re: How do you start a new package of bees with no foundation?

Last year was my first year. I started with a nuc and a package. I dumped a package into a foundationless Lang, hung the queen and checked to make sure she was released 2 days later, and then that...

Re: Hive Hosting Payment by Honey

Keep in mind someone less informed on Beekeeping may have advised him on this arrangement. Keep the amount of honey you want, don't buy it back you earned it. If he is willing to buy your honey to...

Re: CSA's Said Ok. Now What?
