    keep feeding.
  3. Re: update with the install of 4 packages but a few questions too.

We are in a light nectar flow here (maple) and the bees are busy bringing in nectar loads (and lots of pollen) for the last couple of days.

if so then I'd wait until dandelion bloom and reverse the brood...

"Other possibility, there could be a loose queen in the package which is why the queen in the cage died. See what happens, ie, if the bees stick around, build comb, and have eggs...

Re: Are my bees chewing a bigger entrance?

    agree, open it up.
(but they seem to be doing a good job of it all by themselves :))
  10. Re: HELP. Installed package, I have a dead queen. What to do.

    I just remembered that
mann lake has a new store and package bee/queen bee pick at the PA location in
Wilkes-Barre, PA. That's probably not too far to travel for pick-up if they can help with a...

    Re: swarm issue question

IMO Mike hit the nail on the head. Amount of eggs, open brood in the hive seems to be the key to turning them from swarming. One additional step I take is to not only destroy the uncapped queen cup...
