    Re: Ontario Bees

I find them to be very curious. Meaning you can expect to see them everywhere within 100 yards of the hives. I think alot of this has to do with the amount of bees they have during the main nectar...

Re: Importance of humidity in making splits.

I always give a jar or sugar water to compensate
  9. Re: Well, don't think i'll do that to a split again.

I had a cell builder hive that I gave a quick look at last night and it had 4 queen cells all capped. I changed over the jar feeder I had inside an empty super on the cell builder and closed them up...

    Re: Combining Nucs

usually if there is something wrong with the larva etc the bees will tear the cells down. I'm with JD I'd shake a couple frames of bees from another hive to give the weak one a boost and see what the...

  15. Re: What are these black spots on my bottom board?

    Re: When to unwrap?

its more of a personal preferance thing I believe. i unwrapped 4 hives today they were all booming with bees. I don't insulate etc. I only wrap with black tar paper. There is a fairly large beekeeper...
  19. Re: Mysterious deaths of my two hives... do you know what happened??

The small specs in the cells look like varroa feces. I would make a guess that the varroa have weakened the colony and they just finally couldn't make it to food and got knocked down to a cluster...
