Re: Everything is blooming at once

With everything blooming here I would not feed if my stores were low.
If the bloom (or flow) had not started, I would put in 1 pint of syrup per hive, if they take it, give them 1 more pint then...

    Everything is blooming at once

I'm not complaining, just wondering. Poplar, locust, clover, blackberries, wild roses, and all kinds of wildflowers are blooming or just starting to bloom. Will it be one massive honey flow and then...

    Re: Foundation pics

It's good to hear from a neighbor. My grandson in Loudon wants to get into beekeeping. I am going to set him up with a couple of hives.

    Re: Foundation pics

I have some frames with fresh foundation made up. I think I will alternate new and old and see how that works.

    Foundation pics

This was last years foundation that didn't get drawn out and a frame that was dropped while frozen. Will the bees draw them out or should I just put new foundation in these frames?

Re: I wish That I hadn't seen this

Here is an up date on this post. I checked these 2 nucs today and I found the queen but no eggs yet in one of them, so I think this one will be ok. The other one I couldn't find the queen and I...

    Re: Queens in the grass

Don't you wish you hadn't seen that. It just gives us something else to think (worry) about. Let us know how things turn out. In my situation there weren't any bees with the queen, she was all by...

Re: I wish That I hadn't seen this

I hope that is the reason. I was worried that she was injured and wouldn't be able to make it back to the hive.

Thanks Rader Sidetrack and Cyan for the resizing info. This queen was on the ground. She would climb up a twig and try to fly but she would just flutter back to the ground. She finally did get air...

OAV treatment with sugar on the hive

I have put sugar on my hives using the Mountain Camp method. Is it ok to do a OAV treatment with the sugar on there or should I take the sugar off.

    Re: October swarm

drlonzo, I suspect that this swarm came from a nuc that is 3 boxes high and has lots of bees. Not sure though. I have 2 full size hives that also have lots on bees, but the nuc is the most crowded.
