    I have taken 20 plus hits many times with little reaction but my doc prescribed me pens for the just in case scenario.

    He said that you never know when that one sting might cause a reaction.

    Same thing here, Our bee tree has been in our yard for 25 plus years and on some years throws swarms and also gets swarms if the old colony died out.

    A lot of my colonys are bearding right now,lots of bees and the heat,You will most likely find with cooler weather it will stop.

    Got a friend with a top bar that is bearding up like crazy too.

    I have both,The jacket for light stuff and the suit for tearing into the hives.

    The suit is a square veil and the jacket is a round one.

    I do put a spacer between the quilt box and the hive so I can put sugar blocks in.

    I did Lauri's sugar block recipe and the bees loved them,I even put winter patties right next to the blocks and most of the patties were still there in the spring.

    I have seen $15 to $20 per frame, But like others have said,try to get in good with some local beeks and you may never have to pay again other than paying it forward.

    I usually stop after seeing good patterns in eggs,unless I need to make splits or to see if she was replaced.
    I figure if I keep pulling frames looking for her the odds of killing her increase.
