Sometime back, there was a discussion on the virtues of the honey plane. The consensus was the honey plane did not work well. I am planning on purchasing a new honey knife for next year and would...

Buy 2 tupperware type tubs that are to be used with food and that one fits in the other. In one, drill zillions of small holes. Put this one in the other. Then make a "T" out of wood to go across the...

Thanks, GaSteve, I was beginning to think that no was willing to give up any secrets. Did not know the one about using a flashlight. Thanks again.
A couple of things I do remember, like putting a piece of cellaphane on the jar before you put the lid on. Then when you get to the fair, take it out. This keeps honey off the inside of the lid.

Does anyone have any experience with the 9/18 radial extractor from Mann Lake. It looks to be a good deal but I am concerned about it being made from 26 guage stainless steel. Is this to light?
Thanks for the help. I have tried scraping and then putting them back in hoping the bees would clean them out but with the lack of wax on the sheets, they did not accept them to good. I have applied...

I have 40 hives and have been using a 2 framer for about 12 years. I run mostly mediums and will keep the 2 framer for the deeps. I don't want to go to anything bigger until later. Thanks for the...
I am planning on buying Kelley's nine frame extractor. I am wanting advise on this. Has anyone else bought and used one? What are your recommendations?
I make a few nucs when I find hives with swarm cells. I made one like this 10 days ago. It had a cell on the bottom of the frame. When I looked in it today, the queen had not chewed out yet. I found...
Add some frames of brood to your split to give it a boost.
Well, my first grafting attempt did not take. The bees did build up the cell cups some. I took Hooks advise and made me a grafting tool with a paper clip. The second time around was much easier....
Hey people, I just found the thing that is probably the hardest and most frustrating thing I have ever tried other than golf. I attempted to do my first larvae grafting to raise my own queens. I...
DITTO FOR ME.
Magnet-man. Where did you get your queen rearing kit? Every where that I have tried to order one, there is a 5 to 6 week back order.
