Re: Bad beekeeping, worse TV reporting

I am curious if he really has bees in those hives. It doesn't appear to have outer covers on them. He said he had bees and now he doesn't. Maybe he moved them or the colonies died and he has stacked...

    Re: Chocolate brown pollen... goldenrod?

I refer to this chart quite often. It has helped identify the pollen when i'm curious.

We use the Jenter system which is very similar to nicot.
I use a plastic queen clip to catch the queen in and then place it over the hole in my Jenter system and let her walk right in. I usually...

    Re: co2

You can use dry ice to apply Co2. Simply place it in the top and close it up. As stated above Co2 is heavier and drops.

    Re: 1/8 screen?

You might try McMaster Carr. If there is a branch close by you can even order it and go pick it up. If you look on their website they call it wire cloth.

    Two swarms in one tree.
One 3-4lb. and one small 1-2lb.
The bigger swarm had two queens and the smaller only had one.

Re: Central Ohio-Grove City Bee Ordinance

Some of it is rather redundant. Ohio law spells out much of this already.

  22. Re: A question on the progression of cells -> mating nucs -> customer.

  23. Re: Not sure if bees are preparing to swarm--I need advice!

  24. Re: Not sure if bees are preparing to swarm--I need advice!

Perhaps the queen is now under the screened bottom board. Can you carefully look to see if she is in the cluster under there?
We have found queens under there quite a few times. The hives seem queen...
