I recently research Lifemel myself. For starters "fortified" would be an extremely bad and misleading description. The bees are fed fortified pollen and syrup/nectar , after that the honey does not...

I recently research Lifemel myself. For starters "fortified" would be an extremely bad and misleading description. The bees are fed fortified pollen and syrup/nectar , after that the honey does not...
Cleats are a no go for commercials, who have to pallet the hives. Obviously it doesn't kill his bees or he would be out of business. As someone with direct knowledge of life in Georgia, I can tell...
I bought some wildflower honey in Helen,GA that definitely has a maple syrup taste to it.
YEp, 88 delivered. Once I did the math and considering my time in this sweltering heat to build and paint , it was a no brainer. I would love to take a shot at building my own stuff, but my job has...
Just wanted to report. I ordered 2 medium supers from the add on this page for Honey Bee Habitat Super Sale. They are kind of pricey but for me lately Time is money. I got them today. They were...
I seriously doubt they are the original genetics, but it's possible. Any area that has been used as a hive before will be a constant swarm trap. There is an old farm house in the woods near me that...
insecticide is not going to remove eggs, brood and honey. Not sure what happened to your hive, but it sounds like your queen took off or died and they were unsuccessful at raising a new one and they...
is it possible that it was honey bees robbing a dead out yellow jacket nest?
Thanks, Valleyman and ROmalley. I work in manufacturing and am lucky enough to be able to spend a little more on Made in USA items. Now I just need to figure out which one Santa will bring me.
With a log that small , if you mount a hive body on top, the queen should move up soon. When eggs start appearing in the hive body you try and find here up there and move her to a normal bottom or...
I would bring it home one night. Screw a board to each end and set it up right. Add a super on top and let them do their thing.
I have used a friends many times . The door hinge is a bit of an issue, but we don't remove the hose often. First time we killed a lot of bees from the heat, I think it is a problem with the motor...

For hive top feeding these are my favorites. If you are just a little handy you can build...
drizzle a little honey around the feeder. I found they are attracted to smells and sugar in a jar doesn't smell much
I did an inspection on one of my hives this weekend and I found it full of happy bees, No eggs, No Brood at any stage and I didn't find the Queen(not totally unusual for me) . Frames packed with...
Does it say where it's made? Also did you happen to lay your eyes on any extractors while you were there? looks like good prices, but the pictures don't come up on website.
Find some help, a good mentor is price less.
You would need to stop them up at night to ensure you get all the field bees and no, if you move it during the day they will not find the new hive...
I have found that Brushy just does not seem to have a strong internet group. No big deal a lot of suppliers only sell via calls. If you call them you will find you have a much better experience.
looks like washboarding to me. Don't think there is a known reason for this. Sometimes they will cover the whole front of a hive and just dance back and forth together.
...
They both looked virgin to me, quite on the small side. I separated one of them in a cage. The plan was to wait a few days and see how the swarm was doing, then use the second queen if need be, but...
Don't thin I have the answer to your question but more info. My strongest hive swarmed in May and had two queens in the swarm. The swarm was small maybe only 2 lbs.
I'm sure you will find a niche market for these. They are very appealing to the eye, but while I have small landing boards on all my hives, bees in the wild don't use a landing board.
Idee, what do you use the slide in bottom for and have you made any changes after using it several years?
Thanks Bill

I think in the south leaving it in may be a thing of the past. Never heard of it improving flavor but I do think it improves your chances of gathering SHBs.
