    It works very well if you lightly roll it over the honey. If you push down hard it plugs up like the guy said.

    The queen excluder keeps the queen out of the feeder so she won't drown. The sides of the feeder has a texture that the bees are able to walk on and not fall in the syrup.

    You could shave 1/8 inch off the end bars of the frames and 5 will fit then. That's what folks do when they run 11 frames in a 10 frame brood box and that's what I do in my 4 frame nucs.

    It sounds like its just cold. Let it sit on the table and get room temp and it should get softer.

    Put a queen excluder on top of the bottom board then the hive body then another excluder on top then the top. If the queen can't leave the swarm won't.

    If the frames are in pretty good shape you should freeze them a day or two then rinse them off with a hose and shake the excess water off and put them in strong hive. They will clean them up like new...

    When I vacuum bees I use just enough vacuum to capture the bees. You must be using too much vacuum if its moving liquid.
