    I 8 frame med nuc with wooden hive body and a plywood bottom and top board for transport is $150 I have also purchased a 5 frame deep split for $50 + $20 for a queen.

    Makes since in that aspect, I make most of my own equipment and can whip a shim together quicker than a box but this time I just used a candy board shim that I previously had and ripped an inch off.

    Is there an advantage of putting deeps in 2 mediums as apposed to using a 3 in shim? I used a 3 in shim below a medium box this yr to house a deep nuc in my all med equipment and it works great...

    Key word there is knowingly, if he doesn't send them off to be tested then how will he know ? Do they require samples of all colonies to be sent off before selling in florida?

    So they need 2 frames of open cells all the way up the middle? I thought they started low and worked their way up in somewhat of a cone shape uncapping honey as they went leaving a wake of empty...
