    Re: 2012 Dieback Already?

blueberry pollen isn't good for bees and I don't think fungicides help. We won't mention the gib. I hear NJ isn't as bad for blueberries as Maine, but they tend to come out with EFB, so I dust...

    Re: Hop Guard

I have heard that the strips kill brood if placed as directed, but don't when laid across the top bars. Thats, all I've heard, and i've never used them.

Good. Just it looked like some guys got a little hot water thrown at them, and I need a hot shower.

    Re: first skunk trapped

Skunk skins are $5-6 apiece if you trap them in the late fall or winter, those dozen skunks can pay for some packages in the spring. If you know some trappers the scent glands are worth quite a bit...

  11. Re: Bobcat with forklift mast, or without, vs Hummerbee!!!!!!!!

I'm running one of those sod lifts that mounts on the back of a truck, picked it up for 3K. They are lighter than a hummer and can handle more weight.
  12. Re: (2) 20 frame extractors vs (1) 50 or 60 frame extractor

There is typically a shorter spin period on the larger extractors because the frames are farther from the axle. A 20 frame extractor can hold 30-40 med/shallows if you don't drop them into the...

Re: Bloom routes (for lack of a better term)

Citrus in Florida usually runs march 1 to April 15. Usually should not be used in that sentence, as there is very little usual about the orange. Jersey Blueberries tend to be April 15 to May 15,...

    Re: varroa treatments?

Re: Resistant bees, productive or not

way back there, yes mark c, bees can grow faster than the mites... until the queen maxes out. That's why Kirk Webster gets more tan 30% of his hives through the winter. That's why I do too.
