I know this will probably start a riot but bigger trucks are difficult to maneuver down here. We prefer 450-550 size trucks with 4x4. Won't even entertain the thought of a 2wd.

When I bought my F550 I drove it all the way from Pennsylvania to Florida. It was a bumpy ride lol

    Re: Show & Tell Time

I didn't buy a new truck until my hive count broke a 1,000. Very important to sink your money into your livestock first. The trucks and loaders are only important if you have good bees to move around...

I have fed every sub out there. I want something that I can blend myself to keep cost down and keep my labor busy. Also, I am intrigued that Keith has figured out how to keep beetles off his sub. I...

Re: Where to Find Sub Ingrediants

Our summers are pretty rough here. We have a good 1-2 month dearth that can really set back a fresh split. So there are two options, find anther place to ship bees for a honey flow or stay here are...

Re: pallets with truck bed liner coating

A friend of mine got a sample box from Shastina that was sprayed with bed liner. It started to peel off in about a month. It doesn't stick to wood well.

Re: keeping hives on commercial pallets?

The bottom slats on the pallet should be recessed back about 5 inches. That way the pallets stack nice with the hive clips.

  17. Re: Paramount Farms buys out Headwater Honey (David Mendes)

As I stated in the Almond price thread, I have heard a few things. True or not, who knows? I heard that they lost 30% more than what is considered acceptable and they fired the Florida managers. They...
  18. Re: What is the latest on the demand for bees in the almonds this year?

With Paramount getting desperate for extra bees I wonder if their prices will come up a bit? They have been calling some of the big boys in Florida for extra bees for almonds.

What he said. I also use some aluminum bars that a friend of mine made that hold the lids down as I strap side to side. I have never had a lid slide forward on the truck. In the flatwoods we don't...

I triple stack story and a halves or doubles occasionally. I only net bees when hauling them in the morning.

No idea what the steps are rated at. I haven't broke them yet lol
