Just guessing here, but maybe some variety of Viburnum. If you can't figure itt out this year get a close up picture of the flowers next year and try again.
My guess, Bumblebee Moth aka Snowberry Clearwing Moth.
I have couple planted about 15 years ago and haven't had a problem with either. Thay are about 35 and 40 feet tall. During the bloom the ground will be covered with blossoms. The seeds are small. The...
I have found the videos on this page to be very informative. http://entnemdept.ifas.ufl.edu/honeybee/extension/index.shtml They also say that often the colony can push through an EFB outbreak.
I fail to see how it is BeeWeaver's fault. You received the queens alive and they died in your care.
Be very careful with the DE for pools it isn't safe for pets or people and dangerous to breathe in. I would get the food grade DE from the feed store it's safer. Watering the lawn would keep the dust...
Have you had luck with clover in the past? As far as why you saw no germination I can put forth a couple guesses. It could have been too deep. The seed could have been too old and lost its viability....
If reducing the entrance didn't stop the robbing I would make a robber screen. If you have basic tools you should be able to make a couple quickly. If you can't find the correct size hardware cloth...

I cut it into chunks. Dump it into some cheesecloth a couple layers thick and then wring it out. Cover and let it sit overnight to...
It sounds to me like he has poor customer service. It also sounds to me like you didn't feel like picking up your nucs when he told you they would be ready. Maybe, if you can make contact with him,...

You don't have to brush them into the nuc. You could shake or brush them onto something else and then dump them in the nuc.
I've used a piece of folded cardboard and a wooden spoon to get a swarm...
Looks like Flowering Quince (Chaenomeles speciosa)
Put a box below them. They will build down just fine. Wait a couple weeks then check for brood. Once you have brood then follow the rest of the procedure one outlined by Oldtimer starting with the...
How many of these dippers with the continuously diseased hives are saying they are treatment free? If they don't claim to be treatment free then what in the world are you trying to prove? Dipping a...
The way I see it dipping the woodenware in beeswax, parrifin, rosin or any combination thereof for preservation of the wood is not a treatment. It's tantamount to painting or varnishing the wood.
Here is a good video on it.

Halictid bees, bumble bees and rarely honey bees, in that order.

I'm assuming you pulled out half your frames put your box in and put the queen in the frames you had left. It's been a few days so as soon as you're comfortable with the weather get in there and pull...
The redbud here was being worked over pretty good by both the carpenter bees and honey bees. So they have to be getting something from it.
Call around to your local feed stores.
