I put some sugar in the blender to make icing cake sugar for bees, added little water - bees loved it
Which one to go for?
Poly Nucs is the way forward if there is easy way to clean
Thanks Michael, many have even recommended wintergreen and tea tree oil to help control varroa.
I'd like to make my own foundation, but not sure if its financially viable
Thanks for that, I'm going to try your method. It's easier than making fondant and the use of corn syrup. Someone recommended adding lemongrass and tea tree oil to the sugar! I haven't tried that yet
I over winter my hives in poly nucs and hives. Bees love it as they are warmer and the consume less feed. One downside you get a lot of condensation on the roof and sides of poly hive.!!
I gave them moist granulated sugar this winter, but I'm not sure if the bees taking it or throwing it away!!??
Thank you, finding my way round the site
I found second hand Silicone press for sale. I would like to make my own foundation. The seller told me it has few air bubbles!!! Will that be a problem for my bees? Thanks in advance
Would tea tree oil help as a natural treatment?
That's plenty of stores
My bees are very fussy, I tried dry sugar and moist .. It's not working, they need the feed but throwing sugar crystals outside the hive.
Can I put sugar syrup rather than corn syrup?
Hi, would like to learn about queen rearing, making foundation and building Nucs and Hives. I use National and Langstroth
