  1. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

Thank you, thank you, thank you, this is what I was looking for. They are splitting the cell and not just shearing off the bottom of the cells. Details are everything. After skimming through the...

Re: Lost Hive: Looking For Comments/Thoughts

We have an advantage. The winter kills the weak and we are left with the strong. Unfortunately you can pamper the weak and screw up the gene pool.
  3. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

Have you seen a patent that was granted for this flow hive?

Re: Lost Hive: Looking For Comments/Thoughts

I thought the same but there is a clear view of empty cells around a very small group of bees in a circle. This would be really low numbers for a northern hive.
  5. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

    What is missing?
  6. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

I don't know what you mean.
  7. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

When you apply for a patent you have to do a patent search and not a google search and list all the prior art that resembles what you are doing. (You have to do it the patent office will not do it...

Ouch! Maybe a little late on the treatment or the treatment wasn't effective or it was the cause. Were the numbers small before you treated?
  10. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

    Frames are metal?
  11. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

No it should mean that anyone can manufacture and sell this device.

Edit: It should also mean that another patent using the same concept cannot be granted.
  12. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

    Hmm, Apparently you didn't listen.

    Re: Thank you all

And I wouldn't. If I left it on the hive I would do a reversal putting the full box on top. But there could be an issue with that because brood could be in it. If that were the case I would just...

I said as he described. You live in the Florida part of NY.
  15. Re: Extractor-less honey by- "Honey Flow"

I think you are wrong. I think you have never met the guy. My impression is he could care less about how much money someone else makes and he is honest as the day is long. When you are honest you...

    Re: Thank you all

Yes but if honey is right under the cover then it would be to the left or right. With the deep scenario it would be below them and that is hurting city in the cold. Maybe I am totally wrong but I...

Re: Lost Hive: Looking For Comments/Thoughts

Two mediums as you describe sounds like critical mass. Not enough bees going into winter. If you have nuc size colonies going into winter they must not be alone or you have to winter them in a...

If you have not met Michael Bush in person you should do so. He is not like any old beekeeper you will every meet. Seriously, I mean it.

    Re: Thank you all

Maybe that is the right answer but it would concern me because my bees are always at the cover in the spring and that would mean starvation if the top half of the deep was empty.

Re: Is It Necessary to Remove Robber Screens?

Have you heard of the word clap trap? You can have a walk away split but a walk away hive is natures hive and not very productive.
