I use 2 pins on each side and they work great
I need to requeen some hives, and I want egg laying machines, what is everybody's experience with different queen suppliers?
Followup question
What impact on her starting to lay does the make up of bees ( foraging vs drone vs young nurse bees) with her have?
Michael
How long do u give a queen to start before u replace her? Is it different for virgins that open mated vs a purchased queen installed via a queen cage?
Welcome and may God bless your business
Check the queen cells to see if any hatched out. Sounds like a virgin queen. Leave the nuc alone. 5-7 days she will mature and get mated. You should see brood in 2-3 weeks.
