    Strange noise coming from hive

    Was out looking at the hives this evening. While inspecting a hive I heard this thumping sound like muffled machine gun fire coming from a hive 20ft away, any ideas?

    The majority of the cells that had eggs and 1-2 day old larvae were located on the bottom of the frame. So I'm not surprised that's where the queen cells are located.
