Do you use the exterior kind or the regular kind?
Thanks
This time of the year drives me nuts. At least here in the south I can watch them come out on warmer days.
Do wax moths taint honey? Can you extract and strain honey that has wax moths on it? If not can you give it back to the bees?
If you use browser based email just copy and paste the address into an email. If you can't get that to work, here is her profile on beesource although it looks like she hasn't logged in in a while....
I'm sure you've all read about the Egyptian pharoah tombs they opened and found jars of perfectly edible honey. It keeps quite well with moisture control.
Does anybody else think that's a queen?[/QUOTE]
Unless it's a strange stacking of a couple of bees, it does appear to be a queen. Somebody should start a Where's Waldo style where's Olga (the...

Please don't paint it clemson orange. Your bees will do everything in their power (even to their own harm) to outperform my bees alone.:p
Hmm, I've never measured a varroa mite, but I guess they might get stuck on 1/16. Thanks.
I'm about to start using screened bottom boards. I see that you're supposed to use 8 gauge or 1/8 inch square hardware cloth. Is there a reason you can't use 1/16 in screen. The only reason I can...
Stealing bees...that's like stealing someone's pet. You just don't do that.
