    Raccoons vs. Bees

I have the offer of a friends backyard to keep a couple of hives; however, they have a problem with raccoons. Do raccoons mess with bee boxes? If so, how do I protect the bees short of fencing?

Re: How to seal up a bee tree

If bees are still trapped inside, I've had 'em chew through silicone when used by itself. Same goes for expandable foam.

Re: How to seal up a bee tree

For large openings, I jam rags in and seal with mortar. For smaller holes, plug 'em with steel wool and cover with silicone caulk. 1/8" hardware cloth secured with deck screws will also work.

    Colorado Bee Vac Review

Has anyone purchased and had any field experience using the Colorado Bee Vacuum? From the manufacturer's video, it looks far superior to any others I have seen but, I can't find any actual reviews.
