    over time the bees build the wax out around the holes the queen lays in just like in a hive. some queens seem to like the holes that are deeper than the jenter provides.

    is this the first time you have used this jenter, I found they wouldn't lay until they started to draw out the face of the kit. after that they use it just fine.

    never tried it so can't comment except that after loosing the queen, I usually make sure the jenter is between two frames of open lava to make sure they feed the lava when they hatch in the jenter,...

    one way is to test the pollen and bee bread for pesticides, expensive and time consuming but if there are pesticides, that's where you will find it.

    You can buy queens and have them shipped in, but very few people are shipping in because of the costs to do so. I had some shipped down 10 years or so ago, the queens were held up at the border and...

    I say it must be a two way street, best queens I ever bought came from canada, but they no longer ship due to the cost and delays getting them down here.

    the other option is to allow the Mexicans bring bees in for almonds, would seem to me that would be a less expensive option for the almond growers.
